Because CDV is a serious criminal charge you should retain the services of a lawyer as quickly possible once you know that you are under investigation for, or have been arrested. You should remain silent until you can contact your lawyer, remember anything you say can and will be used against you later. Your lawyer can be present with you during all police questioning, bond proceedings and then ultimately at CDV Court. Definitely consult with a lawyer prior to making any appearances at CDV Court.
