Meet Our Team Attorney Vicki Koustogiannis

Attorney

Vicki Koutsogiannis has been an attorney with our office since 2014. During this time she has represented clients charged with misdemeanor offenses including DUI and domestic violence, and clients charged with felonies in General Sessions ranging from sex offenses to drug trafficking. She has also represented clients charged with federal crimes, and has represented clients in civil cases pending in federal court. She has tried numerous cases to verdict, including jury trials.

She is a member of the South Carolina Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National College of DUI Defense. She has presented at attorney CLE programs on topics including legal ethics, substance abuse, and criminal defense matters.

In 2016 she completed the DUI Detection and Field Sobriety Testing course pursuant to the National Highway Traffic Safety curriculum. This is the same type of training received by South Carolina law enforcement officers in the investigation of DUI cases.

In 2017 she completed the Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE) training curriculum, and also passed the final examination. This training is frequently made available to police officers who are part of specific DUI teams.

She currently serves as co-chair of the Lexington County Bar Association Social Committee.

Vicki graduated from the University of South Carolina School of Law, where she also earned a CALI Award for Excellence in the subject of Legal and Equitable Remedies. (This award is given to students who earn the highest grade in the class on a given subject.) In law school, she was nominated and served on the Pro Bono Board, and was a member of several student organizations. Prior to law school, she received her B.A. in Political Science from Stony Brook University in Long Island, New York, where she graduated with honors, Cum Laude.

Vicki grew up in Greenville, South Carolina and graduated from Mauldin High School. Her parents are from Sparta, Greece, and thanks to them, she and her brother speak the language fluently. Her parents have been in the restaurant business all their lives; they currently own and operate a restaurant, Twin Palmetto, in Landrum, South Carolina. Vicki enjoys cooking, running, spending time with family and friends, and playing with her dogs (Nymeria, a white German Shepherd, and Lyanna, a Boston Terrier). Vicki likes to travel, mostly to Greece, where she has been visiting ever since she was a child. She is a big fan of the HBO series, Game of Thrones, and has read the books as well.
