Columbia Domestic Violence Defense Attorney

James R. Snell, Jr., is a Columbia SC CDV Defense Attorney. The information on this page may be of special interest to those with a pending Columbia Criminal Domestic Violence charge.

After an arrest for CDV in Columbia SC or in Richland County the defendant will be transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center, 201 John Mark Dial Drive, Columbia, South Carolina 29209. Bond Court is held several times inside the jail. Defendants have a right to be represented by an attorney at their bond proceeding.

During the Bond Court the defendant will be advised of their next court date as well as of the details of any "no contact" bond restrictions. The case will then be forwarded to the appropriate Court for trial. It is important for a defendant to consult with an attorney prior to their first Court appearance. Otherwise they may lose or not take advantage of important rights.
